In most cases, the pork that SC Foods handles is procured directly from the region it is produced.
This also means that our pork is processed by our suppliers at a butcher adjacent to a slaughterhouse under strict safety control.
This is the way we are able to obtain fresher products than those processed after buying from individual markets.
SC Foods only purchases from Okinawa, Yamagata, and selected other regions that have met our standards.

Yamagata has a rich natural landscape that changes with the four seasons. The pure and soft water drawn from this prefecture is used in producing the Yamagata Pork.

Ultimate breed

  • The Yamagata breed is a crossing of a female Landrace and Large White mix with a male Duroc, which enhances the quality of the meat. We mainly feed this three-breed cross corn and barley and allow more time for growing and finishing. This causes the pork to be delicate, lean, and juicy with sweet and flavorful fat.

Ultimate environment

  • The pigs drink the pure snowmelt from the Ōu Mountains and breathe in the clear air of Yamagata every day. Yamagata’s water is one of the softest in Japan. In this kind of environment, the hogs are raised by the farmers with great care.
