


Contributing to the Provision of Safe, Reliable, and High-Quality Carrot Juice
It is no exaggeration to say that consumers’ awareness toward food safety has increased to such a level that it is currently the needs of the global society. In 2017, SC Foods’ operation in New Zealand, Juice Products New Zealand Limited (JPNZ), was the first among Sumitomo Corporation Group to acquire Safe Quality Food (SQF) certification, the international standard for food safety and quality control. Since then, we are also working to introduce international management system standards pertaining to quality and hygiene.





Expanding the Procurement and Business of Certified Organic Food Products
“Organic cultivation” refers to an agricultural method that places little burden on the soil, water, and eco systems where farming takes place. To ensure that the products we handle are safe, reliable, and high in quality, SC Foods only selects certified organic products that rely on nature-based cultivation methods, rather than chemical agents such as pesticides or chemical fertilizers. By continuing to conduct procurement based on relationships of trust with suppliers who promote organic cultivation, we contribute to the preservation of sustainable farmlands.





Supporting the Development and Production of Safe, Reliable, and High-Quality Rice
As the brand holder of “Obako no Takumi,” a brand of rice cultivated with reduced pesticides, we have co-sponsored and assisted with the planning of the JA Akita Obako “Rice-tasting competition,” an event dedicated to supporting the production of high-quality, and delicious rice. In FY2021, five rice growers were selected for certification from among 615 applicants after a strict selection process. By purchasing and marketing their carefully cultivated specialty rice, sold under the brand name “Obako no Takumi,” we have contributed to the distribution of safe, reliable products and also encouraged the improvement of cultivation techniques among rice growers.
