Revitalization support for regional industries connected through the “Good foods to eat”

Yamagata Prefecture, a major production region of the many agricultural and livestock brands including rice, cherry, Yamagata beef, and partnered with SC Foods to establish a brand known as “Certified Yamagata Pork.” In addition to developing and making products with high value added items, we are working to increase recognition of the “Certified Yamagata Pork” brand and to support the revitalization of regional agricultural industries and their cultural heritage inheritance by assisting with the organization of “The Best IMONI-KAI in Japan Cultural Festival,” which began in 1989. We also support by serving as an official sponsor of the local professional soccer team, Montedio Yamagata.

Bringing good products passionately made by domestic producers to dining tables across Japan

For many years, the business operation of Shinko Sugar, which has been supporting the staple crop industry of the island of Tanegashima, serves as the foundation of Tanegashima’s local economy. As an official distributor of its products, we have offered employees of SC Foods, especially our younger employees, the chance to experience farming on the island. This on-site learning experience is conducted in order to build a better relationship with Shinko Sugar and to deepen our understanding of its products. Our employees are able to observe the seed collecting and planting of Tanegashima’s largest industrial product, sugarcane, as well as the environmentally friendly practices of Shinko Sugar’s zero waste factory, such as how the strained lees of compressed sugarcane (bagasse) are further used as boiler fuel. By doing so, our employees become able to convey the trustworthiness of the products to customers in their own words.
